Did you notice our logo?

We Berliners call it a hunger rake also known as the famous Airlift Memorial. Take a look out of the window of your hotel room – see if you can spot the original on the street.

Why this logo?

We chose this because we feel connected to the place we are situated.

Since 1951 the Airlift Memorial has symbolised the freedom of Berlin and the support of the United States in accomplishing this. The three "claws" represent the three air corridors in the Federal Republic of Germany. At the base lies a tribute to those thought to have been sacrificed for Berlin. This is inscribed there:

"They gave their lives for the freedom of Berlin in the service of airlift 1948/1949"

This freedom is still preserved, ensuring that guests from around the world are able to enjoy Berlin also. We see the goodness in this and are proud.
